Aloha! Debi Mae West here… old school Valley Girl from back in the day. Yeah, I might be getting older, but still a total bad-ass! After graduating from jazz school and rock bands, I got swept up in the voice-over industry and never looked back!! I have been a voice actor since the 90’s in every area of the field. Well, except for audio books. I have not been a voice of a book.
My career started as the voice of, “Lucky,” on “101 Dalmatians,” cartoon series, when I was “lucky” enough to match Pamelon Adelon’s voice and take over the role. That led to a pretty strong drop into the animation and gaming world. In 1998, the gaming industry changed forever with the massive, world renowned video game, “Metal Gear Solid”, and I had the pleasure of becoming, “Meryl Silverburgh,” which I won a Spike Video Game Award for, BEST PERFORMANCE BY A HUMAN FEMALE! Then the launch of Anime at its’ finest, bringing Lady Tsunade to life in the english dubbed version of the hit series, “Naruto”, and “Shippuden.” I have been the voice of, “Maiev Shadowsong,” in the “World of Warcraft,” videogame and “Hearthstone,” card game series for over 15 years.
In the Tekken 5 series, I play the iconic, “Christie Monteiro.” Another super fun role was playing, “Kat,” in “Max Steel,” back in the 90’s. I was also young “Speed Racer,” in a remake of the old series. Animation credits include, ”Despicable Me,” “Harvey Birdman,” “Drawn Together,” Queer Duck, The Movie,” “Superman,” “Angry Beavers,” “Zatch Bell,” ”Sailor Moon,” “Johnny Bravo” and “The Secret of Nimh II and more. Games include, “God of War,” “Spider-Man,” “Star Wars,” “Saints Row IV,” Highlander,” “Final Fantasy,” “Neo Pets,” “Ty the Tasmanian Tiger,” “Rainbow Six,” “Predator,” and others.
Along with animation, anime and video games, I have voiced thousands of television and radio commercials, am a voice of KCRW and Eclectic 24 radio stations, launched and voice networks such as, “The Olympic Channel,” “Discovery Health,” “HGTV,” “Buzzr Game Show Network,” “Start TV,” “CTV,” “NBC Sports,” “NFL Network,” “Starz,” “Travel Channel” and The Smithsonian Channel. I had the deepest pleasure being the promo voice of, “Anthony Bordaine, No Reservations,” for many seasons.
In 2022 I made my dream come true as the voice of “The Winter Olympics” and in 2024 the voice of “The Summer Olympics.”
Currently you can hear me flying the friendly skies, as the voice of, “American Airlines Safety Video,” so don’t forget to buckle up and make sure your tray table is secure.
I currently reside on a remote island with my dog, “Jefe,” and my cat, “Jorge” (true story,) surf every day if I can, and make voices in my studio.
