Jon Allen is an accomplished voice actor, comedian, and on-camera actor, best known as the current voice of Mr. Poopy Butthole on the popular animated series “Rick and Morty.” Taking over this fan-favorite character, Jon has expanded the role from post-credit bits to a more substantial presence in Rick’s life, including leading storylines like the season 7 premiere in which Mr. Poopy Butthole takes Rick’s squad on a wild, drug-fueled party spree. This role highlights Jon’s unique comedic timing and voice talent, making it a significant part of his career.
Comedy has been a passion and talent for Jon from an early age, beginning with impressions of his teachers and classmates and creating sketch comedy albums in junior high. He won the 2014 “I’m Funnier Than” Comedy Contest, further cementing his skills as a stand-up comedian and impressionist. No celebrity is safe from his spot-on impressions, which he incorporates into his live performances, showcasing the same vocal versatility he employs in his voice acting. Jon’s comedy includes a mix of impressions, sketch comedy, and character-driven humor, making him a dynamic entertainer on stage and beyond. Jon has opened for national headliners such as Jim Florentine (VH1’s “That Metal Show,” “Crank Yankers”), Carlos Alazraqui (“Reno 911,” “Rocko’s Modern Life,” “Fairly OddParents,”) and WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam. Most recently he hosted the 2025 San Diego Film Awards. Jon studied Improv at the Groundlings School of Improvisation, and stand-up under Greg Dean, author of “Step by Step to Stand-Up Comedy.”
In addition to voicing western animation, Jon’s voice has also been a staple in the world of anime, having voiced numerous characters in anime such as “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure,” “Dragon Ball Super,” “Sword Art Online,” and “Mob Psycho 100,” and featured in popular video games including “Pain,” “Smite,” “Genshin Impact,” and “Pokemon Masters.” He has appeared on camera in series like “The Ex-List” and “My Profile Story,” and he is also active in pro wrestling both as a wrestler and commentator.
With over two decades of experience, Jon’s talents span animated series, video games, commercials, corporate narration, live comedy, and wrestling entertainment. His work has been featured at the Voiceover International Creative Experience, and he appears in the book “The Art of Voice Acting,” demonstrating warm-up techniques.
