Keone Young is a well-known actor, being in the film/tv business for over 50 years. Originally, from Honolulu, Hawaii, Keone made his screen debut in 1969 in the TV series “Room 222.” A true renaissance man, Keone is fluent in several languages and is passionate about the arts, having studied intensively under his mentor, Mako Iwamatsu.
Keone is legendary for many of his animated voice over credits which include Grandpa in American Dragon: Jake Long, Kaz in Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, Mr. Sanban in Codename: Kids Next Door, the Firebending master Jeong Jeong in the Asian-influenced Avatar: The Last Airbender, Storm Shadow in the Sunbow G.I. Joe animated series, the Hard Master in G.I. Joe: Renegades, Mr. Wu on Nickelodeon’s show The Mighty B!, , Silver Samurai in Wolverine and the X-Men, Sensei in Young Justice, Commander Jun Sato in Star Wars Rebels, as well as hundreds of voices in episodic tv such as Teen Titans, Futurama, The Simpsons, Sofia the First, Ultimate Spider Man, Batman, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Samurai Jack, Naruto, Kung Fu Panda, etc., etc.
Recently, Keone appeared as Kojiro Sasaki in Record of Ragnarok, Tsunetomo Yamamoto in Godzilla: Singular Point, the Star Wars: Visions anthology series playing the role of Kamahachi, and as Dr. Onda in Ultraman: Rising for Netflix.
In video games he voiced Chen Stormstout in World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria and Heroes of the Storm by Blizzard Entertainment, Joe Hiyabusa in Ninja Gaiden, The Monk in Ghosts of Tsushima, Marshall Kai Ti Chang in Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb with many other games to his credit.
On camera he is well known as Mr. Wu in the award-winning HBO series Deadwood., Don Kim in Crank 1 and 2 as well as Men In Black 3, The Brady Bunch Movie, Surf Ninjas, Black Rain, Dude Where’s My Car, Return to Halloweentown, and tv shows like Sons of Anarchy, Golden Girls, Man in the High Castle, NYPD Blue, True Blood, Cheers, Head of the Class, Diff’rent Strokes, Murphy Brown, Mad About You, Family Matters, Alias, JAG, The Young and the Restless, General, Hospital, and hundreds of others.
Young also has several Star Trek links: he played Buck Bokai, a famous baseball player in the 24th century in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode “If Wishes Were Horses”. He also played Hoshi Sato’s father in the Star Trek: Enterprise episode “Vanishing Point.”
