Terri Hawkes has over thirty years of professional experience and peer-nominated awards as a voice artist, actor, writer (and dual citizen) across Canada and the U.S.
As a voice actor, in the worlds of anime, animation and radio drama, Ms. Hawkes has voiced a number of iconic characters, including the title voice in Sailor Moon as well as Princess Sissi. Other leads include Baby Hugs and Shreeky (Care Bears), Franny (Quads), Bianca (Beverly Hills Teens) and Lily (Flying Rhino Jr. High) – for which she was also the voice director. Currently she plays “Toast” in Netflix’s Bee and Puppycat and recently recorded leads in demos for the animated series, Monster Problems, and the video game Magical Rejects. Numerous CBC Radio Drama leads include her ACTRA Award nominated turn as Vivian in the acclaimed series: Vivian. Ms. Hawkes is currently in high demand internationally as a celebrity guest for anime conventions.
Although Ms. Hawkes is best known for her work as a voice artist and onscreen, her acting chops were honed Off-Broadway and in regional theatres across the continent. Onscreen, she’s known for her work in the horror film Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II, General Hospital (Soap Opera Digest nod), CTV’s Traders (Gemini nod), Beverly Hills 90210 and numerous film, TV and digital projects. Currently she can be seen as the decidedly “unwoke” headmistress Hein in the acclaimed digital series Lady Ada’s Secret Society (LASS) on Marble Kids’/ You Tube (LA Webfest Best Supporting Actress). The highly anticipated LASS II dropped in late August 2025.
As a writer, Ms. Hawkes holds an MFA in playwriting from UCLA’s Theatre, Film and Television, and has had her scripts produced onstage as well as in the worlds of feature film (The Book of Eve), animation (Anne of Green Gables) and digital series (Lady Ada’s Secret Society II). She was a finalist in the Herman Voaden National Playwriting Competition (Rhubarb, Rhubarb, Rhubarb), recently placed second in NYC’s Stareable Festival (best original pilot pitch) and brought home the award for Best TV Pilot from the Sydney Womens’ International Film Festival (Fantasy Revenge Inc.).
Ms. Hawkes considers herself a narrative activist across mediums (animation, anime, tv, film, and theatre), often using humour as the lens through which to promote thought around social issues and marginalized voices. She is grateful that her varied and full life experiences have given her (more than enough) fodder and perspective which she draws on liberally in her professional life.
